Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Phoenix Health & Wellbeing

Tempe, AZ · Remote or hybrid $45 – $60 an hour Fulltime 2 weeks ago

About the role

Phoenix Health & WellBeing is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our growing team in a full-time role. Before applying, please take the time to carefully review the full job description.

We are looking for a grounded, compassionate, and clinically thoughtful therapist who has experience working with clients with a range of mental health needs and who wants to do meaningful, depth-oriented clinical work. Your areas of experience may include trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, identity development, relationships, life transitions, or other areas that align with the clients we serve.

More than anything, we are looking for someone who is curious, emotionally attuned, clinically skilled, and committed to continued growth. We value clinicians who can build strong therapeutic relationships while also knowing when to challenge clients, ask meaningful questions, and help clients move beyond insight toward meaningful change.

Phoenix Health & WellBeing is a practice with a strong growth mindset. We believe great clinicians continue learning throughout their careers, and we want therapists who are excited to strengthen their skills, develop areas of specialization, receive feedback, and grow alongside the practice.

Our Client Population

Many of our clients are college students, young adults, professionals, and individuals navigating significant life transitions. They may be working through anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, grief, relationship patterns, identity development, burnout, depression, or simply trying to better understand themselves and how they want to move through the world.

Our clients often appreciate clinicians who are warm and approachable while also being intuitive, thoughtful, honest, and willing to respectfully challenge them when appropriate. They want therapy to feel meaningful, not simply like a place to talk each week.

If you enjoy building genuine therapeutic relationships, doing deeper clinical work, and helping thoughtful and motivated clients better understand themselves and create lasting change, you may enjoy the population we serve.

Independence With a Team Behind You

Our therapists have significant independence in their day-to-day clinical work, while still having access to a collaborative team when they need it.

You will manage your own client relationships and clinical work while having opportunities for consultation, case collaboration, and support from other therapists and leadership. Because Phoenix Health & WellBeing also provides psychiatric services, our therapists have opportunities to collaborate directly with our psychiatric team when clinically appropriate.

We hold regular therapist–psychiatry collaboration meetings to discuss shared clinical concerns, improve coordination of care, and help ensure clients' needs are being addressed across services.

You have room to practice independently without feeling like you are practicing alone.

We Help You Build Your Caseload

One of the benefits of joining an established private practice is that you don't have to build a caseload entirely on your own.

Phoenix Health & WellBeing actively markets and advertises our clinicians, manages incoming inquiries and consultation requests, and works to connect new clients with clinicians based on clinical fit, specialty, personality, availability, and client preference.

For clinicians with appropriate experience and consistent availability, we are typically able to build toward a full caseload within approximately 60–90 days, although referral volume and timing can vary and a specific caseload cannot be guaranteed.

We want clinicians to be able to focus primarily on what they do best: providing excellent clinical care and developing meaningful relationships with their clients.

Schedule

This is a full-time position. Our standard schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., although we are open to discussing adjusted daily hours or schedule structures that preserve full-time availability, continuity of care, and the needs of the practice.

We value schedule consistency because it supports both sustainable caseload development and continuity of care for clients.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized, strengths-based treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-informed psychotherapy to adults age 18 and older.
  • Work with clients experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, identity development, relationships, life transitions, perfectionism, burnout, and other mental health concerns within your scope and competence.
  • Provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, inclusive, and affirming care.
  • Build meaningful therapeutic relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Establish clear therapeutic goals and regularly evaluate progress collaboratively with clients.
  • Utilize clinical judgment to select interventions based on client needs, readiness, goals, and presentation.
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required records.
  • Assess and respond appropriately to risk and safety concerns and seek consultation when appropriate.
  • Coordinate care with Phoenix Health & WellBeing psychiatric providers and, with appropriate authorization, outside healthcare professionals and community resources.
  • Participate in consultation, team meetings, therapist–psychiatry collaboration, and relevant practice activities.
  • Maintain professional, ethical, privacy, telehealth, licensing, and documentation standards.
  • Maintain consistent availability and actively participate in building and sustaining your caseload.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong clinical assessment, treatment-planning, documentation, communication, and care-coordination skills.
  • Ability to establish strong therapeutic relationships while maintaining sound clinical judgment and professional boundaries.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, inclusive, affirming, and ethical practice.

  • Experience working with college students, young adults, professionals, or clients navigating identity and major life transitions.
  • Experience collaborating with psychiatric prescribers or other healthcare professionals.
