Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) – OPWDD/Behavioral Services (Contract)

Location: Geneva, NY / Hybrid – Primarily Remote

Lochland is a nonprofit organization located in Geneva, New York, providing residential and community-based services and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We are seeking an experienced New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to provide contracted clinical consultation and oversight in support of our behavioral services.

This is a flexible, primarily remote opportunity that may be especially well suited for an LCSW currently in private practice or providing independent clinical or consulting services who is interested in adding a limited number of contracted hours each month.

The ideal candidate will have direct experience working within the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) system and a strong understanding of behavioral supports and clinical services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Position Summary

The Contract LCSW will work closely with Lochland's full-time Behavior Intervention Specialist and interdisciplinary team to support high-quality behavioral and clinical services.

The LCSW will provide clinical oversight, consultation, assessment, and review of behavioral services while helping ensure services are provided in accordance with OPWDD requirements and organizational standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight and consultation to the full-time Behavior Intervention Specialist.
• Participate in screening and/or assessment of individuals' psychosocial needs, strengths, and limitations.
• Assist with reviewing and assessing individuals' needs for OPWDD services and support.
• Review and approve Behavior Support Plans and Medication Monitoring Plans prior to submission to the Human Rights Committee in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Participate, as needed, in treatment team meetings, Life Plan meetings, telephone conferences, and virtual meetings.
• Collaborate and communicate with clinical, residential, administrative, and other key stakeholders.
• Complete specialized clinical assessments as individual or organizational needs arise.
• Provide clinical guidance and expertise to support quality behavioral services and regulatory compliance.

Required Qualifications

• Currently licensed and registered by New York State as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• Must maintain active New York State LCSW licensure and registration throughout the duration of the contract.
• Ability to exercise independent clinical judgment and provide professional consultation and oversight.
• Strong communication, documentation, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain appropriate professional liability insurance as an independent contractor.

Please note: Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) licensure alone does not meet the minimum qualification for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working within an OPWDD-certified or funded organization strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OPWDD regulations, requirements, and service delivery.
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
• Experience with Behavior Support Plans, Medication Monitoring Plans, Life Plans, and Human Rights Committee processes.
• Experience providing clinical supervision, consultation, or oversight to Behavior Intervention Specialists or other behavioral professionals.
• Current or previous private practice or independent consulting experience is highly desirable.

Schedule & Work Arrangement

This is a flexible independent contractor position requiring approximately 10–20 hours per month.

Services will be performed primarily remotely, with occasional onsite meetings at Lochland's Geneva, NY location. Occasional evening and/or weekend availability may be required based on organizational needs.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced clinician seeking a small, flexible consulting commitment in addition to an existing private practice, consulting business, or other professional responsibilities.

This position is structured as an independent contractor (1099) engagement and is not eligible for employee benefits.

Pay: From $100.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
