Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough clinical assessments utilizing DSM-5 criteria and ICD coding to evaluate clients’ mental health and substance use disorders.
• Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and behavioral therapy techniques.
• Develop tailored treatment plans that incorporate addiction counseling, trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and case management strategies.
• Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems accurately while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
• Provide crisis management during acute episodes, including de-escalation techniques and emergency response coordination.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including hospital staff, social workers, and community service providers.
• Engage in ongoing research and data collection to monitor treatment outcomes and improve clinical practices related to addiction medicine and behavioral health.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor or equivalent credential with active certification.
• Proven experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, PTSD care, and mental health counseling.
• Strong knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic evaluation, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical terminology relevant to behavioral health.
• Proficiency in clinical documentation standards, EMR/EHR management, and medical records maintenance.
• Skilled in intake procedures, client assessment in therapy settings, crisis intervention, and case management.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction, client assessment in therapy sessions, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds while maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
• Experience working within hospital or home & community care environments is preferred.

Pay: $33.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 40.0 per week
