Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate (LCASA) – Outpatient Therapist

Evergreen Community Behavioral Health is hiring Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associates (LCASA) to join our growing behavioral health team throughout North Carolina.

We are looking for dependable clinicians who are ready to work with clients, maintain a consistent caseload, complete documentation on time, and meet Evergreen's weekly utilization expectations.

• Have an active individual NPI
• Be able to complete the required NCTracks affiliation with Evergreen Community Behavioral Health

• Be able to maintain a minimum 50% weekly utilization rate

POSITION DETAILS

Pay: $45.00–$55.00 per billable clinical hour, based on experience and qualifications

This is a statewide recruitment. Applicants may be located throughout North Carolina. Client assignments will be based on clinician location, availability, qualifications, payer requirements, and agency needs.

COMPENSATION — PAID WHEN CLAIMS REMIT

Evergreen operates under a paid-when-claims-remit compensation structure for this position.

Clinicians are compensated for eligible billable services after Evergreen receives payment from the applicable insurance payer for the submitted claim.

Because insurance processing times vary, payment timing may vary depending on the payer's claims processing and remittance schedule.

Compensation ranges from $45.00–$55.00 per billable clinical hour, based on experience and qualifications.

50% WEEKLY UTILIZATION REQUIREMENT

Clinicians are required to maintain a minimum 50% weekly utilization rate based on their established clinical availability.

For example:

20 available clinical hours = minimum 10 completed billable hours

30 available clinical hours = minimum 15 completed billable hours

40 available clinical hours = minimum 20 completed billable hours

We understand that cancellations and no-shows occur. Clinicians are still expected to actively manage their schedules, communicate attendance issues, appropriately re-engage clients, and work with the Evergreen team to address ongoing barriers.

Clinicians should only establish availability for hours they can consistently work.

Consistently falling below the 50% utilization expectation may result in caseload review, reassignment of clients, reduction of assigned caseload, or performance management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinicians are responsible for:

• Providing substance use disorder and behavioral health services within their credentialed scope
• Maintaining at least 50% weekly utilization
• Maintaining a consistent schedule with accepted clients
• Completing progress notes and required documentation within agency deadlines
• Participating in treatment planning and maintaining required clinical documentation
• Providing person-centered, recovery-oriented interventions
• Supporting clients with substance use, recovery, relapse prevention, coping skills, and treatment goals within the clinician's scope
• Monitoring client progress
• Communicating client cancellations and no-shows promptly
• Appropriately attempting to re-engage clients who miss appointments
• Coordinating with supervisors and other treatment team members when appropriate
• Maintaining professional boundaries and client confidentiality
• Following Evergreen policies and applicable clinical requirements
• Maintaining all required credentials and Medicaid provider enrollment

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must:

• Hold an active North Carolina Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate (LCASA) credential
• Already be enrolled as a Medicaid provider through NCTracks
• Have an active individual NPI
• Be able to complete the required NCTracks affiliation with Evergreen Community Behavioral Health
• Meet applicable requirements for the services they are assigned to provide
• Maintain all required professional credentials and supervision requirements
• Complete documentation accurately and on time
• Have reliable internet and technology for documentation and telehealth when applicable
• Be dependable and responsive to clients and the Evergreen team
• Agree to the paid-when-claims-remit compensation structure
• Be willing and able to maintain a minimum 50% weekly utilization rate

CASELOAD & SCHEDULING

Clinicians may establish their availability based on the number of clients they can realistically and consistently serve.

Evergreen is seeking clinicians interested in approximately 10–40 hours per week.

Once availability and a caseload are established, clinicians are expected to consistently service accepted clients and maintain at least 50% weekly utilization.

Additional clients may become available as Evergreen continues expanding throughout North Carolina.
