Location: Westport, Connecticut

This role is part of a private-pay practice model that allows clinicians to maintain smaller caseloads and focus on providing thoughtful, high-quality care.

Are you a thoughtful, growth-oriented therapist who is excited to specialize in LENS neurofeedback, while also being comfortable picking up individual therapy clients when the practice needs it?

If so, we'd love to connect!

About Us

The Wave Effect Therapeutic Solutions is a growing, collaborative therapy and wellness practice based in Westport, Connecticut.

Our mission is to provide high-quality care to individuals and families in the Fairfield County community, helping clients move out of chronic stress, anxiety, trauma, and emotional dysregulation.

Our work goes beyond traditional talk therapy. We thoughtfully integrate approaches that support nervous system regulation and lasting change, including EMDR, LENS neurofeedback, and other evidence-based practices.

We value collaboration, integrity, and excellence in client care, and we are looking for clinicians who share those values and are excited to grow alongside our practice.

Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed therapist who is interested in specializing in LENS neurofeedback as the primary focus of their caseload, while also being willing and able to take on individual therapy clients as the practice's needs require.

The clinician hired will receive training in LENS neurofeedback as part of the position, including hands-on insight from Rebecca Halbert, LCSW, who has been integrating LENS into clinical practice since 2021.

This role is built around LENS — that will be the majority of the caseload — but the practice values clinicians who can flex into individual therapy when scheduling or referral needs call for it. We're looking for someone who wants to go deep on LENS specifically, without feeling boxed in if a therapy client needs to be part of the mix from time to time.

Clients may range across the lifespan — children, adolescents, and adults — depending on referrals and clinical fit.

This position is ideal for a clinician who values thoughtful, individualized care, wants to build real expertise in a brain-based modality, and is comfortable adapting to practice-level needs when asked.

In This Role You Will

  • Administer LENS neurofeedback sessions as the primary focus of your caseload
  • Provide individual therapy to clients as needed, based on practice scheduling and referral demand
  • Work with a caseload that may span children, adolescents, and adults
  • Support families through parent sessions and collaborative care when appropriate
  • Work with clients experiencing anxiety, stress, trauma, and emotional dysregulation
  • Maintain a thoughtful, client-centered and results-oriented approach to treatment
  • Collaborate with our team to maintain a supportive and professional practice culture
  • Communicate openly about caseload capacity and scheduling as the practice's needs shift
  • LENS neurofeedback training is provided and will take place virtually in November. Candidates should be able to commit to attending this training as part of onboarding into the LENS-focused portion of the role.

Qualifications

  • Licensed therapist in Connecticut (LCSW, LMFT, or LPC)
  • Genuine interest in specializing in LENS neurofeedback as the core of your clinical work
  • Willing and able to take on individual therapy clients when the practice needs it, even if that's not your primary focus
  • Experience working with a range of ages — children, adolescents, and/or adults
  • Interest in or experience with evidence-based practices (EMDR or other modalities welcomed but not required)
  • Strong clinical judgment supporting clients navigating anxiety, trauma, and dysregulation
  • Comfortable utilizing technology and clinical tools in practice
  • Organized and able to manage an independent caseload
  • Collaborative, dependable, and communicative — someone who respects shared practice space, staff, and systems as part of a team environment, not a solo operation

This Position May Be a Great Fit If You…

  • Are excited to specialize and build deep expertise in LENS neurofeedback
  • Are curious about brain-based and nervous-system-based approaches to therapy
  • Don't need every week to look identical — you're open to a therapy client here and there if the practice needs it
  • Are genuinely flexible and adaptable — we're a growing practice, and that means processes, expectations, and structure will keep evolving as we scale
  • Value high-quality care rather than high client volume
  • Are looking to grow your caseload gradually rather than needing full-time hours immediately
  • Thrive in a collaborative, professional practice environment and are comfortable working within shared systems and space

  • Part-time 1099 contractor position with opportunity to grow into a fuller caseload
