Overview

Westbrook Youth and Family Services (WYFS) is seeking a qualified Licensed Clinician to provide outpatient psychotherapy services on a per diem basis. The clinician will provide individual, family, and couples counseling to children, adolescents, and adults in a supportive and collaborative environment. Services will be provided both in-office and through Telehealth, offering flexibility while ensuring accessible, high-quality behavioral health care.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial and mental health assessments.
• Diagnose mental health conditions using standard diagnostic criteria like the DSM.
• Provide evidence-based psychotherapy and counseling to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Formulate, monitor, and update client treatment plans and goals.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, psychiatrists, and school administrators.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) and case notes.

Skills

• Valid State of CT professional license (e.g. LCSW, LMFT, LPC) allowing independent practice without supervision.
• Clinicians with an LMSW are encouraged to apply
• Strong working knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities (CBT, DBT, SFBT, ACT, EMDR, etc.).
• Prior experience providing psychotherapy.
• Excellent active listening, communication, and crisis-management skills.
• Being organized and detail oriented.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work or other related field required. At least 1 year of experience working with behavioral health service delivery to children, adolescents, couples and families is required.
