Position Summary

Wōcc is a women-of-color-led nonprofit outpatient behavioral health practice and healing collective in Chicago. We are seeking independently licensed Illinois LCPCs or LCSWs to provide outpatient behavioral health assessments, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, and care coordination. Contractors will deliver advanced, culturally responsive clinical services, participate in weekly supervision and clinical consultation, maintain compliant EHR documentation, and contribute original thinking to member care and program learning.

This position will begin as an independent contractor opportunity. Depending on organizational needs, funding, performance, and mutual fit, there may be an opportunity to transition to an employee position in the future; however, such a transition is not guaranteed. Some evening or Saturday hours may be needed periodically based on member and program needs. Scheduling expectations will be discussed in advance and coordinated with the contractor.

Outpatient Clinical Services

• Conduct diagnostic and needs assessments, advanced case conceptualization, individualized treatment planning, and individual and/or group therapy.

• Use evidence-based and culturally responsive approaches within scope and competence, which may include CBT, DBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, and decolonizing frameworks.

• Administer required screenings and outcomes measures, including grant, Medicaid, and payer required tools.

• Coordinate whole-person care with appropriate providers and partners following member authorization.

• Follow crisis response, mandated reporting, confidentiality, ethical, and clinical consultation procedures.

Documentation, Supervision, and Quality

• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely EHR documentation consistent with Wōcc, Medicaid, payer, grant, ethical, and legal requirements.

• Participate in weekly supervision/clinical consultation, case coordination, chart review, and quality improvement activities.

• Track measurable outcomes, respond to feedback, and communicate scheduling, risk, and barriers promptly.

• Bring advanced conceptualization skills, intellectual curiosity, and novel, creative thinking to complex clinical presentations.

Training, Grant Compliance, and Organizational Responsibilities

• Participate in required role specific training and training on Wōcc’s culture, values, mission, and approach to healing and care.

• Complete required grant training and follow each applicable grant policy, procedure, requirement, deliverable, and Wōcc expectation.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or needed to support Wōcc’s mission and operations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related discipline.

· Active, unrestricted Illinois LCPC or LCSW license and ability to practice independently.

• At least four years of relevant outpatient behavioral health experience; experience serving women, justice impacted individuals, or communities affected by systemic inequity preferred.

• Advanced clinical case conceptualization and demonstrated ability to think creatively and develop novel, clinically appropriate approaches.

• Robust EHR experience and working knowledge.

• Advanced Excel skills and strong computer proficiency.

• Experience with Medicaid documentation, clinical quality measures, trauma-informed care, racial and gender equity, and intersectional healing approaches.

• Professional liability insurance and all credentials required by Wōcc.

Work Arrangement and Terms

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity with no employee benefits. Hybrid work may be possible and is negotiable based on member and program needs. In person services will occur at Wōcc headquarters. Some evening hours may be required. Payment is for approved services performed and documented. Hour and value ranges are not guarantees. Two positions are available, with final scopes and rates dependent on organizational needs and the positions filled.
