Independently Licensed Therapist — 1099 Contractor

In Your Corner Behavioral Health and Wellness is seeking a compassionate, independently licensed therapist to join our growing hybrid behavioral-health practice in Phoenix, Arizona.

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity for a clinician who values autonomy, high-quality care, flexible scheduling, and a collaborative, client-centered practice environment.

Position Summary

The Independently Licensed Therapist will provide outpatient psychotherapy services through a hybrid model, including telehealth and in-person sessions as clinically appropriate. The therapist will independently manage a caseload while delivering ethical, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based care.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual psychotherapy; opportunities for couples, family, and group therapy may be available based on experience and practice needs.
• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, risk assessments, and treatment planning.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and regularly assess progress.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions appropriate to each client’s needs and within professional scope of practice.
• Complete accurate, timely, and compliant documentation, including assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, releases of information, and required billing records.
• Assess and respond appropriately to safety concerns, including suicide risk, self-harm, abuse/neglect, substance use, and psychiatric crises.
• Coordinate care with psychiatric providers, primary care providers, families, schools, and other authorized providers when clinically indicated.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Arizona law, payer requirements, ethical standards, and In Your Corner Behavioral Health and Wellness policies.
• Maintain an active license, professional liability insurance, and required continuing education.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or a related behavioral-health field.
• Active, unrestricted independent Arizona license in good standing, including:
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
• Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
• Licensed Independent Addiction Counselor (LIAC)
• Or another independently licensed behavioral-health professional authorized to provide psychotherapy in Arizona.
• Ability to independently assess, diagnose, treat, and document psychotherapy services within scope of practice.
• Experience using an electronic health record and maintaining timely clinical documentation.
• Strong interpersonal skills, clinical judgment, organization, and ability to build therapeutic rapport.
• Current professional liability insurance, or willingness to obtain coverage before beginning services.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience treating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, substance-use concerns, and relationship concerns.
• Training in CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, CPT, motivational interviewing, or other evidence-based modalities.
• Experience facilitating psychotherapy groups.
• Experience serving children, adolescents, couples, families, neurodivergent clients, or underserved communities.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
