Overview
Iya Therapy and Wellness is a growing mental health practice committed to providing compassionate, culturally responsive, trauma-informed care tailored to the unique needs of each client.
We are seeking a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who is licensed in Connecticut and currently resides in Connecticut to join our team as a Remote Therapist.
In this role, you will provide high-quality individual psychotherapy via telehealth while maintaining the flexibility to create a schedule that works for you. Therapists must commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week and have a combination of daytime and evening availability to meet the needs of our clients. There is an opportunity to increase clinical hours as your caseload grows.

Duties
- Provide individual psychotherapy to clients through a secure telehealth platform.
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial and mental health assessments.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on each client's presenting concerns, strengths, needs, and treatment goals.
- Utilize evidence-based and person-centered therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness-based interventions, and other appropriate clinical modalities.
- Assess symptoms and utilize appropriate DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria and ICD-10 codes when clinically indicated.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans and interventions as appropriate.
- Identify and respond appropriately to safety concerns and mental health crises in accordance with practice policies and professional standards.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation for all client interactions.
- Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements, ethical standards, and applicable Connecticut laws and regulations.
- Utilize the practice's Electronic Health Record (EHR) system for documentation, treatment planning, scheduling, and other clinical responsibilities.
- Participate in clinical consultation, supervision, and meetings as required.
- Maintain consistent communication with practice leadership regarding scheduling, caseload needs, clinical concerns, and administrative requirements.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program required.
- Active Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) license in the State of Connecticut required.
- Must currently reside in Connecticut.
- Previous experience providing psychotherapy or behavioral health services preferred.
- Experience providing individual therapy to adults preferred.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based mental health treatment and clinical assessment.
- Knowledge of DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria, treatment planning, and clinical documentation.
- Ability to appropriately assess risk and respond to mental health and behavioral health crises.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while remaining engaged with the larger clinical team.
- Reliable internet connection and access to a private, confidential workspace suitable for providing telehealth services.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and adhere to HIPAA, ethical, and confidentiality requirements.
- Commitment to providing culturally responsive, inclusive, and client-centered care.
Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and psychotherapy skills.
- Familiarity with evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and strengths-based interventions.
- Ability to establish strong therapeutic relationships in a virtual setting.
- Strong clinical documentation and treatment-planning skills.
- Comfortable using EHR systems and other telehealth technology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage an independent caseload and complete documentation within required timeframes.
- Ability to work effectively with clients from diverse cultural, racial, socioeconomic, and lived-experience backgrounds.
- Receptive to clinical feedback, consultation, professional development, and ongoing learning.
Schedule & Availability
This is a flexible, remote position designed to allow clinicians greater autonomy over their schedules.
Therapists must:
- Commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week.
- Maintain availability during a combination of daytime and evening hours.
- Create and maintain a consistent weekly schedule for client appointments.
- Have the flexibility to increase hours as their caseload grows.
There is an opportunity for clinicians interested in gradually expanding their caseload and taking on additional hours within the practice.
