About the role

Contract LCMHC – Behavioral Health Assessments

Dawn Evolutions LLC is seeking a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) to provide Comprehensive Clinical Assessments (CCAs), clinical record reviews, and Service Orders for our Medicaid Peer Support Services program.

This is a part-time, 1099 independent contractor position designed for a licensed clinician seeking flexible supplemental work. Services are provided 100% virtually, and the clinician may create their own schedule while meeting required assessment and documentation deadlines.

Position Details

  • 1099 Independent Contractor
  • Part-Time / As Needed
  • 100% Virtual
  • Flexible Schedule – Make Your Own Schedule
  • Approximately 2–14 CCAs per month
  • Additional CCA reviews and Service Orders as needed
  • Referral volume may vary from month to month
  • Compensation is paid per completed task, not hourly
  • No guaranteed minimum number of referrals

Compensation

Comprehensive Clinical Assessment (CCA): $150 per completed assessment

CCA Review + Service Order: $50 per completed review/order

Comprehensive Clinical Assessment Responsibilities

The contracted LCMHC will:

  • Conduct virtual Comprehensive Clinical Assessments with referred clients
  • Review available referral, behavioral health, and clinical information
  • Assess behavioral health needs and medical necessity
  • Identify appropriate diagnoses within the clinician's scope of practice
  • Complete required clinical assessment documentation
  • Provide clinical recommendations based on assessment findings
  • Complete and sign required documentation
  • Submit completed assessments within established timeframes

CCA Review + Service Order Responsibilities

Some clients may already have a current Comprehensive Clinical Assessment. In these situations, the clinician may be assigned a CCA Review + Service Order task.

The clinician will:

  • Review the client's current CCA and relevant clinical documentation
  • Determine whether the available clinical information is sufficient and current
  • Determine whether Peer Support Services are clinically appropriate
  • Complete and sign a Service Order when clinically appropriate
  • Identify when additional information or an updated assessment is necessary

The clinician is expected to make an independent clinical determination and is not expected to sign a Service Order when the available clinical documentation does not adequately support the requested service.

If the clinician determines during a CCA Review + Service Order task that the existing assessment is insufficient or that a new or updated CCA is clinically necessary, the clinician will notify Dawn Evolutions before proceeding. If Dawn Evolutions authorizes the clinician to complete a new CCA, the task will be compensated at the $150 CCA rate.
