Title: Clinical Therapist

Direct Report: Clinical Director

Job Overview: The Clinical Therapist will serve children and their non-offending family members through New Hope Children’s Advocacy Center (NHCAC) Clinical Services Program. This position will work as a member of the clinical team as well as the Child Protective Investigative Team, CPIT.

Job Responsibilities

Implement the established policies, procedures and practices which assure that the welfare of the children we serve is our priority

Ensure that the therapeutic environment and setting assures that the physical, social, and emotional needs of the children we serve are being met to the best of our ability

Provision of direct and indirect services to children and non-offending family members including but not limited to:

• Crisis Counseling utilizing best practice methods
• Assessment and evaluation of counseling needs
• Development of treatment plan with goals and objectives
• Provision of individual and family therapies utilizing best practice trauma-focused modalities such as TF-CBT, EMDR, Traumaplay, DBT, & SMART
• Consultation with Child/Family Advocate
• Consultation with Child Protective Investigative Team Members
• Referral for other services and resources as deemed necessary
• Coordination/consultation with other agencies

Participate in any legal/judicial proceedings as may be required by Court Order

Maintain Clinical records as required by the State of Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Outpatient Facility and Licensure Board, as well as NHCAC Policies and Procedures in accordance with the National Children’s Alliance recommended practice model

Provision of training and education to other CPIT members, professional and lay groups in the 5 Judicial District

Collect data, prepare, and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as well as any special reports regarding the Clinical Services Program that may be required

Attend staff meetings, in-service training, peer review, and other job-related conferences, workshops, and professional meetings as may be required to maintain and further licensure.

Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director and/or Executive Director.

Requirements

A licensed Mental Health Professional is preferred, although a candidate working toward licensure may be considered.

Preference given to Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT).

Applicants must have completed a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, or a related degree and possess two (2) years of clinical practice specifically geared to working with children and families in the provision of individual and family therapies.

Specialty training and experience in the child abuse field with particular emphasis on Child Abuse and Trauma, including TF-CBT, EMDR, and/or art/play therapy is required.

Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.

Applicant must have a clean criminal background check and personal/professional references will be completed prior to any employment being approved.

Reliable transportation, honesty, dependability, trustworthiness, and client confidentiality are paramount.

Benefits

Pay: $52,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year

Experience:

• Counseling with children and families: 2 years (Preferred)
