About the role
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Clinical Therapist is responsible for providing high-quality therapeutic services to clients in both outpatient and residential treatment programs. This role involves conducting individual and group therapy sessions, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients. The Clinical Therapist will also provide crisis intervention, conduct assessments, and participate in case management activities.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ mental health and substance use issues.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clients’ needs, goals, and preferences.
- Facilitate individual counseling sessions to support clients’ recovery.
- Facilitate family therapy sessions as needed.
- Monitor clients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all clinical activities and client interactions.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the provision of care.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field required.
- LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent in the state of California.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in substance use treatment or mental health counseling.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices for substance use treatment and co-occurring disorders.
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Commitment to providing culturally competent care and promoting diversity and inclusion.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality guidelines.
- Successful completion of background check, drug test, physical, and TB screening.
- Valid driver's license and proof of active personal vehicle insurance.
