SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Clinical Therapist is responsible for providing high-quality therapeutic services to clients in both outpatient and residential treatment programs. This role involves conducting individual and group therapy sessions, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients. The Clinical Therapist will also provide crisis intervention, conduct assessments, and participate in case management activities.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ mental health and substance use issues.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on clients’ needs, goals, and preferences.
  • Facilitate individual counseling sessions to support clients’ recovery.
  • Facilitate family therapy sessions as needed.
  • Monitor clients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all clinical activities and client interactions.
  • Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the provision of care.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field required.
  • LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent in the state of California.
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in substance use treatment or mental health counseling.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for substance use treatment and co-occurring disorders.
  • Strong assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Commitment to providing culturally competent care and promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Successful completion of background check, drug test, physical, and TB screening.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of active personal vehicle insurance.
