We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and skilled Clinical Therapist to provide behavioral health services to adults involved in the criminal justice system. The therapist will work with clients who may be involved with probation, parole, community corrections, diversion programs, or other court-ordered services.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with complex clinical needs and understands the importance of accountability, client dignity, public safety, and coordinated care. This position requires the ability to build therapeutic relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries and meeting legal and documentation requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and evaluate clients’ behavioral health and treatment needs.
• Develop individualized, measurable treatment plans.
• Provide individual and group therapy to justice-involved adults.
• Address concerns such as substance use, trauma, emotional regulation, criminal thinking, relationship conflict, relapse prevention, and behavioral instability.
• Use evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions, including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and relapse-prevention strategies.
• Complete progress notes, treatment-plan reviews, discharge summaries, and other clinical documentation accurately and on time.
• Monitor client participation, attendance, progress, risk factors, and compliance with treatment requirements.
• Coordinate services with probation officers, parole officers, case managers, attorneys, treatment providers, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide appropriate updates and recommendations to referral sources while following confidentiality laws and release-of-information requirements.
• Participate in staff meetings, case consultations, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
• Respond appropriately to crises, safety concerns, and changes in client risk.
• Maintain ethical standards and comply with agency policies, contractual requirements, and applicable state regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
• Licensed or license-eligible as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, LSW, LCSW or equivalent credential in Colorado.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Human Services, or a related behavioral health field with a Certified Addiction Specialist credential.
• Experience providing mental health or substance-use treatment.
• Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and work effectively with resistant, mandated, or high-risk clients.
• Ability to pass required background checks.
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with justice-involved or court-ordered clients.
• Experience collaborating with probation, parole, community corrections, or other criminal justice agencies.
• Training in CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, MRT, trauma-informed care, or substance-use treatment.
• Experience facilitating therapeutic or psychoeducational groups.
• Substance-use counseling certification or relevant specialized training.
• Familiarity with criminogenic risk factors, stages of change, relapse prevention, and evidence-based correctional treatment practices.

Compensation (Tiered Structure)

• Certified Addiction Specialist Credentialed: $28–$34/hour
• Master’s Level (LPCC / LCSW Candidate): $30–$38/hour
• Licensed Clinician (LPC, LCSW, LMFT): $38–$45/hour

Pay: $28.00 - $45.00 per hour
