Overview

Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee Counties is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Clinical Therapist to join our Counseling team. This is a flexible, wages-for services W-2 position paying $35.00 to $45.00 per completed billable session.

Education

Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related Human Services field, from an accredited college or university.

• Strong understanding of counseling and therapeutic services.
• Knowledgeable about community resources and connecting clients with appropriate support.
• Assess client needs and make appropriate recommendations.
• Comfortable working independently and exercising sound professional judgment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare required reports.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and other computer software.
• Builds positive and effective relationships with clients, coworkers, community partners, and other agencies.
• Can work effectively and respectfully with individuals from diverse populations and cultures.

Certifications

• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
• Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
• Limited Licensed Master Social Worker(LLMSW)
• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)

What You'll Do

• Provide therapeutic services to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Complete appropriate client assessments and make recommendations based on client needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely client records in accordance with agency standards and contractual requirements.
• Connect clients with community resources and work with community organizations to help meet client needs.
• Identify and appropriately respond to concerns involving child abuse, neglect, suicidal or homicidal symptoms, and other client safety concerns.
• Complete protective services, recipient rights, or due process reports when required.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities, and required training.

Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, coworkers, community organizations, and other agencies.

• Represent Catholic Charities professionally in the community.
• Perform other duties related to department and program operations as needed.

Experience

Two years of experience in a related behavioral health field, or a combination of education, school internship, and related work experience.

Compensation and Schedule

• $35.00 to $45.00 per completed billable session
• W-2 employee position
• Flexible schedule based on therapist availability and program needs
• Opportunity for part-time or supplemental clinical work

Please note this is a wage-for-services position and is not eligible for the agency's regular employee benefits package.

Additional Requirements

Must have a valid driver's license and maintain required automobile insurance. Must successfully complete required background and clearance checks, including a criminal background check and DHHS Central Registry Clearance Check. Must be willing to work occasional irregular hours, including evenings, when needed. Must be able to work in a variety of office and community environments.
