We are seeking a qualified and experienced Clinical Supervisor to provide clinical oversight and supervision to therapists and clinical staff serving 2 residential homes, all-male Substance Use Disorder (SUD) recovery house.

This is a part-time position requiring approximately 2–5hours per week, depending on clinical needs, staff supervision requirements, and program operations.

The Clinical Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to ensure that therapeutic and clinical services are delivered in accordance with professional standards, evidence-based practices, licensing requirements, and the needs of individuals in recovery from substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.

This role is primarily focused on supervising therapists, reviewing clinical services and documentation, supporting treatment planning, and ensuring quality of care. The Clinical Supervisor will work collaboratively with program leadership and other staff to promote a safe, ethical, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide regular clinical supervision and professional guidance to therapists and other designated clinical staff, consistent with applicable licensing and regulatory requirements.
• Review therapist caseloads, clinical interventions, treatment progress, and discharge planning.
• Provide guidance and consultation regarding complex clinical cases involving substance use disorders, relapse concerns, co-occurring mental health conditions, trauma, and other behavioral health needs.
• Ensure therapists develop and maintain individualized, person-centered treatment and recovery plans.
• Review and monitor clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, therapy notes, and discharge summaries, for quality, accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Support therapists in utilizing evidence-based practices, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), relapse prevention, trauma-informed care, and other appropriate SUD treatment approaches.
• Provide clinical consultation regarding crisis situations, relapse episodes, behavioral concerns, and appropriate referrals for higher levels of care when necessary.
• Participate in clinical case reviews and multidisciplinary team meetings as appropriate.
• Ensure clinical services are provided ethically and in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, professional licensing standards, and confidentiality requirements, including HIPAA.
• Identify training and professional development needs among clinical staff and provide or coordinate relevant training and education.
• Assist with quality assurance and continuous improvement activities related to clinical services.
• Maintain appropriate communication with program leadership regarding clinical operations, resident needs, and areas requiring additional support.
• Provide consultation to the recovery house regarding appropriate clinical policies, procedures, and standards of care.
• Support coordination of care with outside providers, medical professionals, behavioral health providers, and other community resources when appropriate and with proper authorization.

Qualifications

• Current and active professional clinical licensure in the State of Maryland, such as LCSW-C, LCPC, LGPC with appropriate supervision qualifications, or other independently licensed behavioral health professional, as permitted by applicable regulations.
• Experience providing clinical services to individuals with Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and/or co-occurring mental health disorders.
• Previous experience providing clinical supervision to therapists, counselors, interns, or other behavioral health professionals preferred.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based substance use disorder treatment and recovery approaches.
• Knowledge of relapse prevention, recovery planning, trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and co-occurring disorders.
• Strong understanding of clinical documentation requirements, confidentiality, HIPAA, and professional ethics.
• Ability to effectively mentor and support therapists while maintaining appropriate clinical and professional boundaries.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in residential, recovery housing, outpatient, or other substance use treatment settings.
• Familiarity with Maryland behavioral health regulations and applicable licensing requirements.
• Experience working with adult male populations and individuals involved with the criminal justice system is a plus.

Position Focus

This position is primarily a clinical supervisory role rather than a direct-care or administrative position. The Clinical Supervisor will focus on overseeing the quality and effectiveness of therapeutic services provided within and in connection with the recovery house.

The position may include limited direct clinical consultation or client contact when clinically necessary; however, the primary responsibility is to supervise therapists, support clinical decision-making, monitor documentation and treatment planning, and ensure high-quality, ethical clinical care for residents.

Pay: $60.00 - $75.00 per hour
