Clinical Director, Behavioral Health (LICSW / LCSW)

Embodied Wellness LLC

Spokane, WA $62k – $85k a year Parttime, Fulltime 5 days ago

About the role

We are building a behavioral health service line, and we are looking for the clinician to lead it.

Embodied Wellness is an established multidisciplinary integrative clinic in Spokane. Our team includes an East Asian Medicine Provider, licensed massage therapists, and a chiropractor. We serve a broad patient population, including U.S. veterans through the VA Community Care Network.

We are opening behavioral health, and this is the person who will run it.

What makes this different

Most clinical director roles hand you an existing program to maintain. This one is closer to a build.

We are interested in a model organized around the cellular imprint of a life — what experience wrote into the body and the autonomic nervous system — held alongside the psychological and narrative work clinical practice already does well. Our owner brings nearly two decades of clinical work with trauma from a somatic perspective and is an active collaborator in shaping this, not an owner watching from a distance.

Group programming is a meaningful part of the plan. Isolation is woven into so much of what brings people to trauma care, and we think the group container itself carries therapeutic weight worth developing deliberately. We have a curriculum in progress that we would want your clinical judgment on before it goes anywhere.

Clinical authority for your patients is yours. Formulation, pacing, intervention selection, discharge. Nobody here directs the care of a patient they are not licensed to treat.

Collaboration is not a perk of working here — it is a requirement of it. A provider who wants to work in complete independence would be miserable in this clinic.

The work

  • Individual psychotherapy and therapeutic groups
  • Building out the service line with us: protocols, curricula, documentation standards
  • Clinical supervision and university-approved field instruction for MSW students
  • Active case consultation across disciplines

We support and encourage EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, IFS, NARM, parts and attachment-based work, DBT and CBT skills, verbal psychotherapy, and structured lifestyle intervention. Our orientation leans toward titrated, bottom-up, capacity-building work.

Required

  • MSW from a CSWE-accredited program
  • Active, unrestricted LICSW or LCSW in Washington State
  • Minimum two years post-licensure clinical experience
  • Eligible to serve as an MSW field instructor and clinical supervisor
  • Credentialed or credentialable with commercial and federal payers

Preferred: formal somatic training, working fluency in Polyvagal theory, group psychotherapy experience.

Compensation and support

  • $40–45/hour depending on experience, with a formal review at 90 days and an increase anticipated for strong performance
  • Hourly for all worked time — sessions, documentation, consultation, supervision, and program development. Not a billable-hours-only model.
  • Administrative, scheduling, credentialing, and billing infrastructure already in place
  • You will not need to bring a caseload. Referrals come through the existing clinic.
  • Continuing education support for modality certification

To apply

Send a resume and brief answers to these three questions. We would rather read something short and real than a formal cover letter.

  • How do you understand the relationship between nervous system state and psychological presentation?
  • What excites you about this position specifically?
  • What would you bring to it that we would not get from someone else?
