Clinical Director and Mental Health Therapist/Counselor

This position is for a Clinical Director and Therapist/Counselor position making a full-time employee with split hours. The Clinical Director responsibilities will be 10 hours a week and 30 hours will be designated to a therapist/counseling caseload.

The Clinical Director should have a deep understanding of the practice's clinical protocols and be able to provide guidance and support to clinical staff. They should be able to identify areas for improvement and develop stategies to ensure the practice is meeting its goals. The Therapist/Counselor role will be responsible for caseload of direct service therapy/counseling cases. Therapist will diagnose, develop treatment plan, and carry services intake through discharge. Individual, family and group work with a broad range of client issues and problems (generalist practice) will be expected.

Duties and skills as Clinical Director

Manage personnel/staff related issues including: hiring, firing, training, salary and benefits.

Reviewing clinical records and reporting to Quality Improvement Committee areas of compliance and non-compliance with agency's standards for documentation.

Develop and expand clinical services as need arises.

Research and develop policy and procedures.

Ability to communicate effefctively verbally and in writing.

Ability to direct and delegate staff to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

Capacity to teach/lead others.

Ability to engage others in organization's mission.

General computer work - word processing, email, etc.

Duties and skills as Therapist/Counselor

Perform intake and assessment, develop treatment plans based on generally accepted "best practice", will make appropriate referrals, discharge clients when treatment goals are achieved, and etc.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to be flexible in scheduling and response to client need.

Ability to approach problem solving in a positive manner.

Ability to work with 'difficult' clients and complex clients.

Ability to organize and work independently.

Able to demonstrate compassion, empathy and be non-judgmental.

Able to make goals and work in a team environment.

Able to relate to individuals and families from a strengths based model even in a chaotic family environment.

Qualifications

Professional MA, MS, MSW, or Ph.D. counseling, clinical social work, counseling psychology. Independent Licensure is required. Candidates licensed in another state must assure ability to license in Iowa.

Candidate must be Knowledgeable of

Community resources and programs.

Professional ethical base for general practice.

Current version of DSM and be able to formulate diagnosis and treatment plan.

How to maintain objectivity, good boundaries, and advocate for clients.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Experience:
