As our practice continues to expand throughout San Diego County, we are seeking Associate Therapists (AMFT, APCC, and ACSW) who are passionate about integrated behavioral healthcare and want to build meaningful clinical experience working with medically complex and underserved populations.
While this role is primarily facility-based, therapists may also have opportunities to develop an outpatient caseload based on their interests and availability.
Position Overview
The Associate Therapist will provide psychotherapy services within healthcarefacilities, collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams to support residents' emotional, behavioral, and psychological well-being. This position offers exposureto a diverse range of clinical presentations while providing the supervision andmentorship necessary to build confidence and clinical competence.
This role is ideal for associates seeking experience beyond the traditional outpatientoffice and who enjoy working collaboratively within healthcare environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual psychotherapy within skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitationcenters, assisted living communities, and other healthcare settings
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, social services, rehabilitation teams, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and practice standards
- Participate in weekly clinical supervision and case consultation
- Utilize evidence-based, trauma-informed, and person-centered treatmentapproaches
- Support residents experiencing depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, grief, chronic illness, cognitive decline, and other behavioral health concerns
- Maintain ethical and professional standards consistent with California Board requirements
- Provide outpatient psychotherapy when appropriate and available
Qualifications
- Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT)
- Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW)
- Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC)
- Active California registration in good standing
- Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Interest in geriatric behavioral health, integrated care, rehabilitation, or medical settings preferred
- Experience working in healthcare facilities, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, orcommunity behavioral health is a plus but not required
