Associate Mental Health Therapist
SD Center for Counseling
About the role
About Us
San Diego Therapy Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing low- to no-cost therapy to children, teens, adults, couples, and families who have been impacted by traumatic events. Our primary focus is trauma treatment, and we also offer neurofeedback as part of our services. We work with a wide range of issues to help clients progress so that the cycle of abuse and retraumatization can end and healing can begin. Some of our clinicians work at the SD Family Justice Center, where we collaborate with a variety of community partners (District Attorney, Police Department, Child Welfare Services) to provide care to those in need.
About the Role
We are seeking a full-time pre-licensed Associate Therapist (AMFT, ACSW, APCC, or registered Psychological Associate) to join our dynamic and supportive team. This is a generalist position providing individual, couples, and family therapy to clients of all ages — with deep exposure to trauma-focused work — in a hybrid format combining in-person sessions at one of our offices (Oceanside, Mission Valley, Chula Vista, or Kearny Mesa) with telehealth. You'll build broad clinical experience across presenting concerns and populations while earning supervised hours toward licensure in a structured, communicative environment designed to minimize additional stressors and support a healthy work-life balance.
