Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate Associate Clinician to provide counseling services to children, adults, couples, and families under clinical supervision in a non-profit / private practice-like setting. The ideal candidate will poses a master’s degree in Psychology or related field, be registered as an associate (MFT, PCC, ASW) with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, and must be bilingual or trilingual in English, Russian, and/or Ukrainian.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough intake assessments and develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards.
• Deliver individual, couples, family, and group therapy sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy.
• Apply motivational interviewing techniques to motivate clients toward positive behavioral change.
• Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention and crisis management protocols, ensuring client safety and stability.
• Collect and document clinical data accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, healthcare providers, and community resources for comprehensive patient care.
• Engage in clinical research and continuous professional development to enhance evidence-based practice skills related to mental health counseling and behavioral health interventions.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited program.
• Valid licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist or equivalent credential.
• Experience working with children, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in clinical documentation standards, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and electronic health records systems.
• Strong skills in crisis intervention, case management, patient assessment, and therapeutic interventions such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) and evidence-based practices.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms for remote counseling sessions is desirable.
• Knowledge of cultural competency including Christian counseling approaches is a plus.
• Must be bilingual or trilingual in English, Russian, and/or Ukrainian

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
