Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate Associate Child Therapist to join our outpatient mental health practice. Applicants must hold an active associate-level behavioral health license or registration in the State of Arizona and be legally eligible to practice under clinical supervision in Arizona. Examples include LAC, LMSW, or other applicable Arizona associate-level credentials.
The ideal candidate has experience working with children, individual therapy, and child play therapy.
The therapist will provide individual and family therapy under the supervision of a licensed clinical supervisor while working toward independent licensure.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual therapy to children and adolescents.
- Utilize child-centered play therapy and age-appropriate therapeutic techniques.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and complete clinical documentation.
- Conduct assessments and support diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Provide family therapy and parent/caregiver support when appropriate.
- Address concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, behavioral issues, and emotional regulation.
- Participate in clinical supervision and team consultations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Provide in-person and telehealth services when appropriate.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and professional standards.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field.
- REQUIRED: Active associate-level license/registration and eligibility to practice under supervision in the State of Arizona. Examples include LAC, LMSW, or other applicable Arizona associate-level credentials.
- Applicants must be licensed/registered in Arizona at the time of application and eligible to provide clinical services in Arizona under supervision.
- Experience providing individual therapy to children is required.
- Experience with child play therapy is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of child development and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
- Familiarity with DSM-5 and ICD-10 documentation.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Passion for working with children and families.
Please note: Arizona licensure/registration is a mandatory requirement for this position. Candidates who are not currently licensed or registered in the State of Arizona and eligible to practice under supervision will not be considered.
